Part 1: My Life Before Becoming a Pick-Up Artist

Hey, I’m Brad, and over four years ago I split up with my wife following a year of petty bickering, threats and blazing rows. We  have two gorgeous kids and it was heart-breaking to leave them but I had no choice. The rows could not continue. Six months later we were divorced.

My ex wife settled in into the single life very well. She’s attractive, talkative and very friendly, and always being chatted up by men.

I, on the other hand, had the shock of my life. I’d been with the same woman for nearly 12 years, had no ‘chatting-up skills’ and desperately didn’t want to be alone. Being in my early thirties, married for over a decade and dedicated to my job as a graphic artist, left me socially paralysed where women were concerned! I didn’t know what to say or do to attract them. Sometimes I would buy women lots of drinks, sometimes I would try to impress them, once or twice I bought flowers. But the more I tried the less successful I was!

I remember thinking that women should chase men instead of men chasing them. At the time, this seemed unfair. So I didn’t bother chasing for a while. But the more I waited, the more time I spent alone.

After a few disastrous dates I decided enough was enough and I was going to do something about it.

Virtually all my mates were married or in long term relationships, so I felt if I was going to change I would have to do it alone. Also, how can you tell your mates that you’re crap at chatting up women and you’re going to get some dating skills? You can’t, it’s too embarrassing. They’d take the piss for years!.

There was only was place to look, and it wasn’t bookshops! How can a guy walk into a bookshop and ask for books on picking up women? Thank God for the Internet!

At first I found bits and pieces of useful information, now it’s surprisingly easy to find information on the Net about approaching, talking to and dating sexy women. There are message-boards, ebooks, DVDs, audio CDs for sale and more, much more. The problem for me was turning all the ‘dating’ information I found into knowledge and skills that I could use on a daily basis.

I had no one to coach me; I had no one to watch me and give me feedback. I had no-one to practice with. But I was undeterred! Nothing was going to stand in my way – nothing!

For nearly one and half years, I spent 1 – 5 hours most nights studying ‘pick-up material’. I practiced picking-up women - or trying - mainly on weekends resulting in some of the most hilarious, side-splitting moments you can imagine. I learned the hard way, the very hard way.

I realise now that with the right information I could have gained good pick-up skills in just a few months…
